Story of pearl
Though it sold natural pearl at first, it started cultivation of semicircular pearl in 1923 and opened shop here in kashikojima in 1929.
Though kashikojima has the image of Shima’s high-class resort nowadays, it was an uninhabited island before the train was connected and its touristic development started in 1929. People gathered to create “Karuizawa of ocean,” commencing with us, owners of hotels and restaurants... kashikojima was called Pearl Island at that time and we were the team who placed hopes in Pearl.

It’s been more than 90 years since we are here. We have played the role to secure and transmit the high quality to each product. Nowadays, where pearl is playing the main role in fashion, we put persistent effort on our responsibility as a well-established shop.
Pearl oyster awaits for its time quietly. At beautiful sunset of Ago Bay, pearl oyster rafts would draw the silhouette of splashed pattern on ocean and a pop pop boat would come through them with gentle sound heading to kashikojima.... kashikojima is an island developed as a back room of Ise on Ago Bay with its circumference of 7km. It is also an island loved by Emperor of Showa with its great nature of Shima with nightingale voice and raccoon dogs visit.
Pearl is especially delicate among jewelry and is vulnerable to acid. For maintenance, please wipe off sweat and dust with soft cloth. It’s enough to keep nice shine of pearl. Also, when you use for a long time, the thread may become black or longer so if you see it’s becoming loose, we recommend you to change thread.
It’s the group of pearls with about the same size. 40cm, 16 inch for 1 is the international size.
The center pearl is the largest and it will become smaller as we go farther. The length standard differs by its weight.

Long is the necklace using 3 or more chokers (16 inch).
The value of pearl is decided based on its radiance (the thickness of pearl layer), color, shape, size and flaw.
The thickness of pearl layer is the heart of pearl. The thicker it gets, the more mysterious radiance it has.
There are complete round, oval and irregular shape which are said to be precious but the more it’s close to complete round, it’s more expensive.
There are various colors depending on the mother shell such as pink, cream, gold, gray, black etc.
The larger, the more expensive. However, it has to meet the conditions above.
